MARCO POLO JINJIANG PRESENTS EXCLUSIVE GHA MEMBER EVENT: "KUNG FU LEGEND · INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE GATHERING"

Marco Polo Jinjiang

Events, 28 April 2026
JINJIANG, CHINA, 28 April 2026 – Marco Polo Jinjiang led GHA members out of the hotel and into the thousand-year-old ancient town of West Street, successfully hosting an exclusive GHA member local experience event themed "Kung Fu Legend · Intangible Cultural Heritage Gathering" at the Quanzhou West Street Intangible Cultural Heritage Theatre. A large number of GHA members gathered together to embark on a cultural journey of "Travelling with the City" through intangible cultural heritage performances, traditional games, and folk custom experiences.

Stepping Out of the Hotel – An Immersive Ancient City Cultural Experience
On the day of the event, members watched the large-scale martial arts performance The Legend of Kung Fu 2. The performance integrated the essence of traditional martial arts, including boxing, sabre, staff, and sword techniques – magnificent and powerful, yet graceful and fluid. Guests experienced the power and beauty of Chinese martial arts in an immersive setting at the Quanzhou West Street Intangible Cultural Heritage Theatre.

After the performance, members took part in a fun ring-toss game, revisiting the simple joy of traditional pastimes. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and cheer. Members who successfully tossed rings onto the targets received small bespoke gifts from the hotel, adding a touch of playfulness and delight to their ancient city excursion.

Flower Hairpin Experience-Discovering the Unique Folk Customs of Southern Fujian
"Wearing flowers in this life, beautiful for all eternity." A dedicated flower hairpin photo area was set up at the event, where members personally experienced Quanzhou's distinctive "flower hairpin circle". The flower hairpin is a unique headdress tradition in southern Fujian, symbolising good fortune and beauty. Amidst the splendour of flowers, members posed for photographs, becoming a living, moving landscape within the ancient alleys of West Street.
In addition, the hotel thoughtfully prepared themed afternoon tea energy packs, featuring a selection of southern Fujianese snacks and classic desserts. Members enjoyed a leisurely post-noon tea break in the ambience of the ancient street, adding a sense of relaxation and comfort to the entire event.

Online Lucky Draw-Enriching Member Rewards
Before and after the event, members participated in an online big-wheel lucky draw via the hotel's official mini-programme. Prizes included accommodation, dining, and physical gifts provided by MARCO POLO JINJIANG. The diverse range of prizes offered members more choices and surprises for their one-stop travel experience.

The event served as an opportunity to showcase the acclaimed GHA DISCOVERY loyalty programme, managed by Global Hotel Alliance (GHA).  Complimentary for travellers to join, the programme unites 50 independent hotel brands, across more than 950 properties in 100 countries, under one loyalty scheme.  Members benefit from exclusive rates and earn DISCOVERY Dollars (D$) — with each D$ 1 equivalent to USD 1 — redeemable towards guest bills, room upgrades, late check-out, dining, spa services, and other experiences, at any participating GHA hotel.

This event led members out of the hotel and into the ancient city, seamlessly integrating intangible cultural heritage performances, traditional games, folk experiences, and exquisite tea refreshments. It reflects Marco Polo Jinjiang's deep exploration of local culture and its dedicated efforts to craft exceptional member experiences. The hotel will continue to build upon the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty programme to bring members more exclusive local experience events – so please stay tuned.
